Bhimaashankar

A tree by a well on roadside with fog in Bhimaashankar

Was just browsing through the old photographs taken by me. Found a good topic to post on my blog for Pune. There are many places I have visited in and around Pune. One of them is Bhimaashankar/Bhimashankar. The above photograph is showing one of the finest scenery of Bhimaashankar. It has the pure Indian natural beauty — Dense forest and vivid Indian wildlife.

Forest of Bhimaashankar

The place is a heaven. I visited it in the monsoon / rainy season — 03 July 2005.

Can you believe that this is photograph was taken at around noon?
This is one of my favorite photographs :)

Although I couldn't see most of it, the temple too was a great place. Wonder the road to the Lord Shiva temple is a slope. Most of the temples in India are built on hill-tops, or higher locations. This temple is on a lower ground.

Bhimaashankar Temple

Truly a wonderful place!

You really present the beautiful side of pune. But it will attract more tourists and will take away its beauty. Sad!!
